Kimbo Slice Jr. Set to Make Bare-Knuckle Boxing Debut

In just over a week, the world of combat sports will witness a highly-anticipated debut. Kimbo Slice Jr., the son of the late UFC and MMA legend Kimbo Slice, is set to make his bare-knuckle boxing debut on the BKFC 80 bill.

Kimbo Slice Sr., a well-known street fighter and mixed martial artist, gained fame through his street fight videos on the internet before transitioning to professional MMA fighting. He had a brief 3-3 professional MMA career under the Bellator banner, competing twice before passing away due to heart failure in 2016.

Kimbo Slice Jr's MMA journey began in 2010 when he signed with the UFC. His professional MMA career under the Bellator banner followed after his boxing stint, where he had a 7-0 record. However, his UFC journey was short-lived, as he was cut from the organisation after losing to Matt Mitrione.

One of his most memorable UFC moments was his debut against Houston Alexander, which he won via unanimous decision. Unfortunately, he lost his preliminary bout in the Ultimate Fighter to Roy Nelson. His brief MMA career also saw a defeat by Seth Petruzelli in just 14 seconds and a loss to Matt Mitrione.

In 2016, Kimbo Slice Jr turned his focus to boxing, where he recently rebounded from a loss with a stunning one-punch knockout. His professional boxing career started with three consecutive knockouts.

Kimbo Slice Jr's new debut is against Derek Perez (4-4) on September 12. This event is not to be missed, as it also features a heavyweight rematch between Leonardo Perdomo (8-0) and Arnold Adams (7-4), as well as a significant fight between Edgard Plazaola (5-0) and Gary Fox (3-2) with implications for the featherweight division.

Kimbo Slice, real name Kevin Ferguson, became famous in the early 2000s for his street fights that amassed millions of views online. His legacy continues through his son, Kimbo Slice Jr, who is set to make his mark in the world of bare-knuckle boxing.

This news serves as a reminder of the enduring legacy of Kimbo Slice Sr and the continuing journey of his son in the world of combat sports.
