Kristen Faulkner Concludes 2025 Campaign Following Shoulder Operation

American cycling sensation Kristen Faulkner has announced the end of her 2022 racing season following a shoulder injury and subsequent surgery. The two-time Olympic gold medallist sustained the injury in a training crash last December and underwent surgery to repair cartilage in her shoulder.

The operation, performed in America, was a success according to Faulkner's statement. However, she faces several weeks of rehabilitation before she can resume training. Faulkner is confident that she will be healthy and fully recovered for the start of the next season.

Faulkner's participation in the UCI Road World Championships in Rwanda was not mentioned in the announcement. As it stands, only two of the six open positions for the elite women's road race for the USA in the championships have been filled, with Chloe Dygert and Ruth Edwards representing the team.

The search results do not provide information about who replaced Faulkner in the US team for the 2022 UCI Road World Championships in Rwanda after her injury. The decision for the surgery was made after consulting with USA Cycling and orthopedic doctors in America.

The setback comes after a series of crashes during the Tour de France Femmes led to Faulkner dropping out on stage 5. Despite this, Faulkner won the US Pro Road National Championships in May, securing her place as one of the top cyclists in the country.

Looking forward to the coming racing season, Faulkner is confident that she will be back to her best. She plans to return to training after rehabilitation and start the next season on a normal timeline. Faulkner's fans and fellow cyclists will be eagerly awaiting her return to the race track.
