In a significant milestone, the State of Kuwait and the Republic of Peru celebrated the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in Lima. The celebration was marked by a commemorative stamp unveiling and was sponsored and attended by Peruvian Foreign Minister Elmer Chialer Salcedo and other senior officials.

The ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace in Lima, where Ambassador Al-Mansour, the non-resident ambassador of Kuwait to Peru, presented his credentials to President Dina Boluarte of Peru. Al-Mansour conveyed greetings from His Highness the Amir and the Crown Prince of Kuwait, emphasizing the strong foundations of mutual respect and cooperation that have been the cornerstone of Kuwaiti-Peruvian relations.

Ambassador Al-Mansour, who is also the Ambassador of Kuwait to Brazil, highlighted recent developments in the bilateral ties, including the Peruvian Foreign Minister's visit to Kuwait in April, as a milestone in enhancing the relationship and opening new avenues for collaboration.

The Peruvian Foreign Minister praised the distinguished level of bilateral relations, noting the rapid development that the relations between Kuwait and Peru have witnessed in recent years. Al-Mansour added that the celebration of the golden jubilee of diplomatic relations between the two countries reflects the officials' interest in opening new horizons for cooperation that will enhance continued progress in all areas.

It is worth noting that Germany and Vietnam, as well as China and the European Union, celebrated the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in 2025. Germany and Vietnam marked five decades since the establishment of diplomatic ties, while China-EU commemorated 50 years through events such as a concert in August 2025.

The relations between Kuwait and Peru have been built on solid foundations of mutual respect, shared interests, and a sincere desire to enhance cooperation in various fields. The rapid development in recent years, particularly after the important visit of the Peruvian Foreign Minister to Kuwait last April, is a testament to the commitment of both countries to strengthening their relationship.

This celebration is a significant step forward in the ongoing efforts to deepen the ties between Kuwait and Peru, and it is expected that the future will bring even more opportunities for cooperation and collaboration between the two nations.
