Municipal and Integration Council Elections to Take Place in Barmer on September 14, 2025
Voters in Barmer are gearing up for a busy election day on September 14, 2025, as several important local elections will be taking place. The municipal election, mayoral election, city council election, and district council elections will all be held on this date.
To be eligible to vote in the municipal election, individuals must meet certain requirements. They must be at least 16 years old on election day and either be German citizens or citizens of EU member states. Additionally, to be eligible, individuals must have been living in the voting area and registered since August 29, 2025. For the integration council election, eligibility includes individuals with foreign citizenship or those with citizenship.
The municipal election office in Barmer is responsible for overseeing the accuracy and completeness of the voter list for the local elections. Voters can verify the data in the voter registry to ensure that their information is correct. Registration and entry into the voter registry are requirements for eligibility in the municipal election.
Voters who are unable to attend their polling station on election day can still cast their vote by using mail-in voting. Voters can also apply for mail-in voting by filling out and sending the mail-in voting application on the back of the voting notification, or by using the online application process via the QR code printed on the voting notification.
On election day, several voting booths will be available for voting directly at Room A-350 (3rd floor). In addition to voting in person, Room A-350 (3rd floor) also offers the option to vote directly. The integration council election will also take place on September 14, 2025, and voting locations for this election will be announced at a later date.
