New Lada Iskra Hits the Market: Over 90% Locally Produced

The Russian automotive company AvtoVAZ has announced the release of its latest offering, the Lada Iskra, a B-segment car that fills the market gap between the Granta and Vesta. According to Maxim Sokolov, the President of AvtoVAZ, the Iskra platform and the vehicle itself are over 90% localized in terms of the components used in production.

The Lada Iskra comes with three engine options: a 1.6L engine producing 90 hp with a 5-speed manual transmission, a 1.6L engine producing 106 hp with a 6-speed manual transmission, and a 1.6L engine producing 106 hp with an automatic transmission. The vehicles are expected to reach other regions within a few weeks after initial sales in Tolyatti, Moscow, and St. Petersburg.

The base model, the Lada Iskra sedan in the Comfort trim, comes with driver and front passenger airbags, electronic stability control, anti-lock brakes, hill start assist, and other features. The initial price for this model is ₽1,249 million (around $15,960).

For those seeking additional comfort, the Life version of the Lada Iskra is available at ₽1,319 million or around $16,850. This version includes air conditioning, heated front seats, and heated mirrors.

For a more premium experience, the Techno trim will be sold from ₽1,579 million (around $20,100), featuring heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and a windshield, parking sensors, a rearview camera, and fog lights with cornering lights. The Enjoy trim includes a security system, cruise control, an adjustable steering wheel, and the new-generation Lada Enjoy Evo multimedia system with "Yandex" online services and built-in internet access. The initial price for the Enjoy trim is ₽1,439 million (around $18,400).

The Lada Iskra is not just a car; it's a testament to AvtoVAZ's commitment to local production. The Iskra has been re-engineered with over 1,000 new parts and components, demonstrating the company's dedication to innovation and quality.

The Lada Iskra is not limited to sedans. The station wagon and station wagon SW Cross versions are also available, offering more space for those who need it.
