Lafayette's Spectacular Art and Wine Event Approaching: Here's All You Need to Prepare
The much-anticipated Lafayette Art & Wine Festival is set to return to downtown Lafayette, California, on September 20 and 21. Produced by the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce, this annual event promises a vibrant celebration of art, music, and culinary delights.
Taking place from 10am to 7pm on the 20th and 10am to 6pm on the 21st, the festival will transform the heart of Lafayette into a bustling hub of creativity and enjoyment. The festival is just one block from the Lafayette BART station (south exit), making it easily accessible via public transit, and shuttle buses will run continuously between the Lafayette BART lot and the event entrance during the festival hours.
Art and handmade goods will fill Lafayette's streets, with over 250 artist and craft booths showcasing a diverse range of items, from fine art and jewelry to woodworking, clothing, ceramics, and more. Food enthusiasts can indulge in over 30 local food vendors and restaurants serving a variety of food options within the festival footprint.
For those with a taste for wine and beer, the festival features around 20 wine & beer booths, with selections from local breweries like Lafayette's Headlands Brewing, Moraga's Canyon Club, and newcomer Fathers Brewing. A special Premier Wine Pavilion will highlight Lamorinda vintners and even local ciders.
Music lovers can enjoy performances on four stages, with over 20 live bands spanning various genres such as rock, pop, jazz, country, and funk. Some of the bands scheduled to perform include The Spazmatics, ZEBOP!, Other People's Money, The Sun Kings, East Bay Mudd, Jimbo Scott & Yesterday's Biscuits, The Bell Brothers Band, Rachel Smith, Random Nature, David Martin's House Party, and Aja Vu.
The festival also offers four Kid Zones with rides, games, and activities for all ages, and the Community Stage on Mt. Diablo Blvd. offers kid-friendly, hyper-local entertainment all weekend. A complimentary bike valet is set up at 81 Lafayette Circle (Lamorinda Music parking), and a Doggie Lounge (Big Woof Pets) will be available for leashed pets to rest in a shady spot.
Admission to the festival is free, and parking and bike valet are also free in the Lafayette BART lots, with shuttle pickup tents in the western parking lot. If the Lafayette lot fills up, attendees can consider using the Walnut Creek or Orinda BART stations as alternatives.
Proceeds from the festival support Lafayette Partners in Education and other nonprofits, with over $90,000 given back to schools and charities from festival earnings in the previous year. The Lafayette Art & Wine Festival is sponsored by the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce, the City of Lafayette, and event partner Eckerstrom Productions.
Although specific information about the musicians performing at the Lafayette Art & Wine Festival 2025 is not yet available, the event promises to be a memorable celebration of art, music, food, and community spirit. So mark your calendars for September 20 and 21, and join the vibrant festivities in downtown Lafayette!
