LahnCleanup Limburg Plans to Gather Approximately 60 kg of Waste by 2024
On a sunny September day in 2024, the Lahn riverbank was the scene of a significant clean-up effort. Organised by Diana Jordan, the project coordinator of the annual cleanup campaign at the Lahn River, the event saw ten bags of trash being collected.
The items amassed included single-use packaging, paper towels, cigarette butts, tires, concrete blocks, and plastic nets. The collected trash was later transported by the Limburger Bauhof after the cleanup action ended.
Diana Jordan, who serves as the press contact and organisation for the river cleanup, can be reached at Im Niederdorf 10, 55599 Dornburg. The annual river cleanup is generously sponsored by the Postcode Lottery, which also provides trash bags, grabbers, and gloves for the event.
The Postcode Lottery's support was instrumental in ensuring a successful clean-up day. Many thanks were expressed to all those who participated, as a clean Lahn river is not just environmentally beneficial, but also considered beautiful.
At this time, no further cleanup actions or plans have been announced. However, with the community's continued support, the future of a cleaner Lahn river looks promising.
