Lamborghini has introduced a new limited-edition hypercar, the Fenomeno (Phenomenon). The design of the Fenomeno is inspired by the Reventón, a car that Design Director Mitja Borkert describes as a symbol of Lamborghini.

Mitja Borkert, who was especially involved with the Fenomeno, aims to create a specific, brand-aligned intent in the interior design. Borkert compares the Fenomeno's design to a shark, with its sinister, retro-modern elements resembling an almost android appearance. The interior layout roughly mimics the Stealth Bomber-like cockpit layout of the Revuelto, Lamborghini's contemporary gasoline/electric hybrid that motivates the production flagship.

The Fenomeno's exterior styling is oddly restrained compared to other Lamborghini offerings, but above the central display, there is a ventilative protuberance with menacing ambient lights, reminiscent of the set of the original 1970s Battlestar Galactica. The interior includes a small screen in front of the driver and a narrow vertical one in the center console.

Borkert explains that the simplicity in the Fenomeno's design harks back to Lamborghini's earlier vehicles like the Miura and the first Countach. He wants the Fenomeno's interior to provide a smile and cinematic drama when driving. Some elements of the Fenomeno's joy and delight are not always pragmatic, according to Borkert.

The Fenomeno will cap its production at 29 units, plus one for Lamborghini's archives. Borkert states that certain aspects of the Fenomeno's design do not make the driver better or faster, but rather look cool. He uses the analogy of a concert to describe Lamborghini's design approach, suggesting that they don't always play a provocative rock song.

Borkert considers the Reventón, a previous "few-off" produced by Lamborghini, as his personal favourite. He describes the Fenomeno as "hyper-elegant," but also aggressive. The Fenomeno's new hard-shell racing seats have a sinister, extraterrestrial influence, adding to the overall unique and captivating design of this limited-edition hypercar.
