Mercedes-Benz Unveils the New GLC: A Leap Forward in Electric Mobility

Mercedes-Benz is set to introduce a new era in automotive design with the unveiling of their latest vehicle, the new GLC, on September 7th. This groundbreaking model, developed by Mercedes-Benz itself as part of its strategy to advance electric mobility, is the first vehicle based on the newly developed MB.EA platform.

The star attraction of the new GLC is the "MBUX Hyperscreen," a display spanning an impressive 39.1 inches or 99.3 centimeters. This high-resolution screen, coupled with matrix backlight technology featuring over 1,000 individual LEDs, promises unparalleled sharpness. The "MBUX Hyperscreen" seamlessly integrates into the dashboard, almost filling its entire width.

The patented zone dimming feature of the "MBUX Hyperscreen" allows for fine-tuned brightness adjustment in two areas, providing a customizable viewing experience. The appearance of the "MBUX Hyperscreen" can also be personalized with atmospheric background themes.

The new GLC promises ample performance and range, thanks to 800-volt technology. Two central, galvanized air vents are located at the transition to the dashboard, providing a sleek design element while ensuring optimal climate control.

The central "trim piece sculpture" in the new GLC merges the center console with the instrument panel, creating a sculptural surface. Essential function buttons, such as the hazard lights, are located in the lower frame of the trim piece for easy access. Depending on the trim level, the front area of the trim piece houses smartphone charging pads.

Two cup holders are located in the center console, providing practical storage for beverages. Ambient lighting along the bottom edge of the trim piece and extending into the doors enhances the design, creating a visual frame for the interior.

The electric EQ variant of the GLC will debut at the IAA in Munich from September 9th-12th, 2025. The new GLC is expected to usher in a new design era for Mercedes, with the ambient lighting playing a significant role in shaping the interior aesthetic.

The color of the combination instrument, control elements, and ambient lighting in the new GLC adapts according to the occupants' chosen theme, providing a personalized and immersive driving experience. The new Mercedes-Benz GLC is set to redefine luxury and performance in the electric vehicle market.
