Las Vegas Gaming Revenue Surges Past $1B in August 2025
Gaming revenue in Clark County surged past $1 billion in August 2025, marking a 5.32% increase. Las Vegas Strip casinos contributed significantly with a 5.5% year-over-year rise to $679 million. However, the city faced challenges with declining visitor numbers and convention attendance.
Baccarat emerged as a significant driver of growth, accounting for over a quarter of non-slot revenue and generating nearly $116 million, a staggering 50% increase year-over-year. Despite these positive trends, domestic passenger totals at Harry Reid International Airport dropped by 6.7%, with international passenger numbers also declining due to reduced flights from Canada by Air Canada and WestJet. The average daily room rate fell by 7.4% to $162, and revenue per available room decreased by 11.7% to around $126. Executives, however, remained optimistic despite these challenges.
Las Vegas witnessed a mixed bag of fortunes in August 2025. While gaming revenue soared, visitor volume dropped nearly 7%, and convention attendance slipped by 8%. Hotel occupancy also fell to 77.5%. Casino executives, however, expressed optimism, suggesting resilience in the face of these challenges.
