Last Chance Gardens in the Ruhr - On September 6th and 7th, the gardens will open for their final visit this year

The final weekend of the "Open Gardens in the Ruhr Arc" project is fast approaching, offering a unique opportunity for residents and visitors alike to immerse themselves in the charm of various gardens across the region.

This community initiative, which includes Arnsberg, Fröndenberg, Hemer, Iserlohn, Menden, and Neuenrade, invites you to spend time in nature, explore strangers' gardens, and relax in green oasis. By participating, you'll not only enjoy the beauty of these gardens but also have the chance to forge new connections and engage in conversations with other visitors and garden owners.

One of the highlights of the event is the "Garden of Lights" at the historic Weinberg Arnsberg. On September 6th, from 6 PM to 10 PM, and September 7th, from 11 AM to 6 PM, you can visit this enchanting display. For those attending, it's recommended to park at the Altstadt garage at Neumarkt. Please note that parking directly at the Weinberg is not possible.

On September 7th, the Stadtlabor community garden will also be open to visitors. Located directly at Neumarkt in Alt-Arnsberg, behind the Stadtlabor freiRAUM, this garden features a large insect hotel with a photovoltaic system and various habitats and food sources for insects. It's a testament to the project's commitment to sustainability and the implementation of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Stadtlabor community garden is being developed with the help of the Arnsberg Climate Group, further emphasising the project's support for Arnsberg's sustainability strategy.
