Latest Updates and Additional Features in Pixel Drop for Material 3 Expressive

New Pixel Devices and Accessories Unveiled with Enhanced Features

In a recent announcement, Google has launched the new Pixel 10 phones and introduced the Pixel Buds Pro 2, both featuring exciting updates and new features.

The Pixel Buds Pro 2 are equipped with Loud Noise Protection, offering added hearing protection for users. Additionally, the Adaptive Audio function will be available later this month, intelligently adjusting the sound to provide better awareness of surroundings.

The Adaptive Audio function will provide dynamic sound adjustment based on the user's surroundings, starting in September 2025 through a free software update. The new features, including Adaptive Audio and Loud Noise Protection, will be available later this month.

The Pixel 10 devices will also feature Material 3 Expressive, a UI update designed to provide smooth interactions and glanceable, helpful information. Starting today, this update is available for Pixel 6 and newer devices, as well as the Pixel Tablet.

Material 3 Expressive will roll out to Pixel 6 devices today, with updates for Pixel 10, newer devices, and the Pixel Tablet to follow. The update offers enhanced interactions, customizable lock screens, and the ability to add animations such as shapes and weather effects to the lock screen.

Other new features include the ability to accept incoming calls or dismiss text replies without using hands on the Pixel Buds Pro 2 by nodding or shaking the head. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 also allow for clear conversations even when a TV is on or people are chatting around.

Navigation on phone can now automatically display on smartwatch via Facebook Maps, reducing the need to pull out the phone for directions. Customization of the Phone is available through a Facebook experience, offering a unique style for calling contacts.

Updates for Pixel devices are starting to roll out today and will continue over the next few weeks. For more details about the updates, visit the Pixel Forum post.
