Launch of Jet Engine Wash Service by LHT and ACC Columbia under the name Cyclean

In a significant development for the aviation industry, ACC Columbia Jet Service and Lufthansa Technik have formed a new partnership. This collaboration, set to expand sustainable maintenance services throughout Europe, particularly in the areas of business and commercial aviation, is seen as a reflection of a commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions in aircraft maintenance.

As an authorized service partner for Lufthansa Technik's Cyclean Engine Wash solution in Europe, ACC Columbia Jet Service will now offer on-site engine core cleaning services for commercial aircraft at various European locations. This partnership, which began in August 2025, aims to enhance the accessibility of Lufthansa Technik's advanced engine washing technology.

The Cyclean Engine Wash system, designed to clean engines efficiently while improving performance and reducing fuel consumption, uses patented technology for effective, resource-saving cleaning. It is expected to contribute to the expansion of sustainable maintenance services in Europe, as it reduces water usage by 50 per cent compared to conventional methods and requires no post-wash engine run-ups. Washes with the Cyclean Engine Wash system are completed in under 45 minutes.

Marlon Asthalter, Base Maintenance Manager at ACC Columbia Jet Service, expressed his excitement about the partnership with Lufthansa Technik as a Cyclean Engine Wash partner. He looks forward to growing this partnership in the years to come. Florian Prinz, Head of Engine Life Cycle Services at Lufthansa Technik, stated that the partnership will strengthen their network and expand their service offer for Cyclean engine washes in Europe.

Lufthansa Technik remains responsible for commercial marketing and order processing. Once a request is placed, ACC Columbia Jet Service will perform the wash using certified mobile teams in Germany and across Europe.

This development is expected to benefit airlines operating in the region by providing easy access to efficient engine washes using Lufthansa Technik's advanced system. As of now, Cyclean Engine Wash is available at more than 60 locations worldwide. Marlon Asthalter, from ACC Columbia Jet Service, also highlighted the partnership's potential for future growth, expressing optimism about the positive impact it will have on the industry's sustainability efforts.
