Law enforcement agents from the federal government apprehended suspected drug traffickers at Dresden's main train station.

In a significant development, the Federal Police in Dresden have arrested a 28-year-old man on August 26, 2025, for suspected drug trafficking. The arrest took place at Dresden Central Station, and a large quantity of cannabis was seized from the man.

The investigation into the case began when two suspicious individuals were noticed around 3:50 PM at the lockers area. The officers, on duty, quickly identified the suspicious behaviour as potentially related to drug trafficking.

Upon stopping and questioning the 28-year-old, he was asked to show the contents of his pockets. In his left trouser pocket, a plastic bag containing approximately 25 grams of cannabis was found. This discovery led to the formal initiation of a preliminary investigation against the Syrian national for illegal trafficking in cannabis and distribution of cannabis.

The arrest was made by the Federal Police deployment forces, and the ongoing proceedings are being handled by the Dresden Public Prosecutor's Office (Staatsanwaltschaft Dresden). The investigation is still ongoing, and further details are not yet available.
