In a significant development, the Cologne Police have recovered a Volvo that was reported stolen in Hamburg on September 1st. The vehicle was located in a parking spot on Schlagbaumsweg in Cologne-Holweide.
During a routine check, the police found the vehicle key and forged, sealed license plates in the possession of a 36-year-old man. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the man in question is the suspected receiver of the stolen Volvo.
The man, who is from Bosnia-Herzegovina and has no fixed address in Germany, attempted to evade the police when they approached the vehicle. However, he was provisionally arrested by the Cologne Police.
Intriguingly, the forged license plates were found on the man, further implicating him in the theft. The Volvo, which was not returned as agreed, was also found to have been offered for sale on the internet.
