Law enforcement authorities seek cooperation from potential witnesses in their ongoing inquiry
In a joint operation with the Hessian Police Headquarters Deployment, the South-East Hesse Police Headquarters conducted a traffic control operation on federal road 448, leading towards Offenbach. The operation resulted in the detection of 96 speeding violations, with three drivers being measured at over 130 km/h in a 80 km/h zone. These drivers now face a fine of 480 euros, two points in Flensburg, and a one-month driving ban.
However, the operation was not the only matter of interest for the South-East Hesse Police Headquarters this week. On Wednesday afternoon, an alleged shoplifting incident occurred at a clothing store on Frankfurter Street in Offenbach. An unknown woman attempted to steal a necklace from another woman, but the theft was foiled. The suspect left the scene in a black VW station wagon with the partial license plate "MZ". Witnesses with information on the unknown woman are asked to contact the criminal police at 069 8098-1234.
In a separate incident, a 29-year-old man from Germany was arrested on Wednesday noon due to suspicion of theft. He is suspected of stealing a car in Germany on September 1, 2025, and driving it to Austria, where he was apprehended on September 4, 2025. The suspect is appearing before a judge today.
