Braunschweig Police Crack Down on "Racer and Poser" Scene

On July 26, 2025, the Braunschweig Police, in collaboration with other forces, conducted an operation to control the "racer and poser" scene in the city center. The operation aimed to address an increase in prohibited car races involving high-performance vehicles.

Intensive checks were conducted on 36 cars and motorcycles during the operation. Speeds exceeding 100 km/h were detected, with a maximum speed of 118 km/h recorded in a 50 km/h zone. As a result, corresponding fines have been initiated for the detected speeding violations.

In addition, 8 fines were issued for causing unauthorized noise, and 7 fines were issued for driving with an expired license. Four cars suspected of technical manipulation were seized and towed.

Further controls will be conducted to address the "racer and poser" scene, according to Markus Glomb, head of the Braunschweig-Mitte police station. He expressed gratitude to all participating forces and authorities. The city of Braunschweig participated in the operation with its own forces as part of its security partnership with the police.

Citizen complaints received by the police align with their own findings regarding the "racer and poser" scene. A criminal complaint was made due to a violation of the Narcotics Act, and a representative of the Braunschweig Public Prosecutor's Office accompanied the operation.
