Law enforcement facility in Salzland district under scrutiny

In an unsettling turn of events, an 82-year-old woman in Hohenerxleben narrowly avoided a break-in on Sunday evening. An unknown man, claiming to be a police officer, demanded entry to her residence. However, the woman refused the request due to the late hour, and the man left without gaining access.

Earlier in the day, the woman received a call from someone impersonating a police officer, asking about cash and jewelry. The police have not confirmed a connection between the call and the later appearance of the fake officer, but it is highly probable.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident on Sunday evening, a 23-year-old motorcyclist was involved in a traffic accident on the B246. The motorcyclist lost control of his vehicle during a right turn and slid onto the grass on the left side. He was slightly injured and taken to the hospital for further examination.

In a different part of the region, unknown perpetrators broke into the administrative building of an educational institution in Rathmannsdorf. The culprits gained entry by breaking a window and made off with cash from a safe. No damage was found on the safe itself, and only one cabinet in the room was forced open.
