Law enforcement officer undergoes assault by a belligerent individual.

On August 23, 2025, a disturbing incident took place at the Dresden-Pieschen station. According to a report from the Federal Police Inspectorate Dresden, transmitted via news aktuell, witnesses called the emergency number to report a man assaulting a woman at the station.

Upon arrival, officers found the 32-year-old suspect, later identified as a German national, attempting to kick the woman, who was lying on the ground. The suspect was accused of assaulting his 27-year-old German partner.

Before the attack, the suspect is said to have verbally harassed two bystanders. Immediately after the report, patrols from the Federal and State Police were dispatched to the scene. As a result of the resistance, a police officer from the Dresden riot police was injured in the hand. The injured officer had to be taken to hospital for further treatment.

The 32-year-old suspect was under the influence of alcohol and cannabis at the time of the incident. A blood sample was taken from the suspect at the hospital. The suspect resisted arrest and tried to break free violently.
