On August 23, 2025, an altercation occurred at the Dresden-Pieschen bus stop that resulted in a 32-year-old German man facing charges of assault and resisting arrest.
The incident began when the man, who was under the influence of alcohol and cannabis, attacked his 27-year-old domestic partner. Witnesses, concerned by the violent altercation, quickly called the emergency number.
Upon arrival, police officers intervened to prevent further physical assault. However, the man resisted arrest violently, resulting in a police officer from the Dresden riot police being injured in the hand. The injured officer had to be taken to a hospital for further treatment.
