Headline: Three Severely Injured in High-Speed Collision on B 236 near Berghofer Straße
On Sunday, June 22, 2025, a traffic accident involving two vehicles occurred on the B 236 heading towards Schwerte. The incident took place on the B 236 from the Berghofer Straße junction, towards Lünen, at approximately 5:40 AM near the Berghofen interchange.
The accident involved a BMW and a Skoda. The BMW, which was overtaking at a speed significantly above the permitted 80 km/h, ran a red light before colliding with the Skoda. As a result, three individuals - two men, one from Iserlohn (age 24) and the other unspecified (age 35), and a woman from Dortmund (age 39) - were severely injured and taken to nearby hospitals.
A case of reckless driving is suspected, and the Dortmund Police's specialized traffic accident investigation team has taken over the investigation. Blood samples were taken from both men at the hospital, but it could not be conclusively determined which of the two men was driving the BMW.
The Skoda was driven by the woman from Dortmund. Both vehicles were no longer roadworthy after the collision, and they were impounded.
The police are appealing to any further witnesses who can provide information. Unfortunately, the search results do not provide the name of the person who contacted the Aplerbeck Police Station to provide additional witness information. For further questions, contact Annika Roß at 0231/132-1033 or [email protected], or visit Dortmund Police Website.
The B 236 was closed in both directions for the duration of the investigation. For information regarding the accident, contact Aplerbeck Police Station at 0231/132-3821.
We hope for the speedy recovery of all those involved in this unfortunate incident. Our thoughts are with them and their families during this difficult time.
