Law enforcement personnel harmed during incident

On Saturday, September 6th, at around 10:45 PM, a 24-year-old Venezuelan man was checked by federal police officers at the main train station. However, the man reacted extremely aggressively when approached, leading to a scuffle.

The incident began earlier when the man allegedly punched a 22-year-old German national in the face. The victim, who was also at the train station, recognized the man as the suspect in an assault case.

During the ensuing altercation, the man also punched an officer in the chest and caused injuries to both the officer's shins. The man refused to hand over his ID when asked to identify himself.

The man was subsequently taken to the station and charged with assault. The officer sustained injuries but the extent of the injuries to the victim was not specified in the report. The charge against the man also includes bodily harm.

It is worth noting that the 24-year-old is one of the accused involved in a separate case from Stade, where five defendants aged 25, 27, 27, 36, and 36 are charged with joint bodily injury with fatal consequences, among other charges, related to an attack on January 21, 2024, at the parking garage near Stade train station.

This latest incident serves as a reminder of the importance of cooperation with law enforcement officers and the potential consequences of violent behaviour.
