Law firm CMS INDUSLAW offers legal counsel to Sammaan Capital on the release of $300 million in Senior Secured Social Bonds.
In a significant development, CMS INDUSLAW, a leading law firm, has acted as the Indian legal counsel for Sammaan Capital, one of India's largest mortgage-focused non-banking financial companies (NBFCs). The firm's Tax, Capital Markets, Banking & Finance teams collectively advised Sammaan Capital on the issuance of Senior Secured Social Bonds worth $300 million.
Lokesh Shah, Partner, and Arya Jha, Associate from the Tax team, along with Riya Sethia and Vaishnavi Tiwari, Associates from the Capital Markets team, provided their expertise to Sammaan Capital. On the other hand, Nitika Jain, Partner, and Devansh Doshi, Senior Associate, from the Banking & Finance team, also contributed to the advisory role.
The bonds issued by Sammaan Capital are now listed on the India International Exchange IFSC Limited (India INX). This hard underwritten privately placed bond transaction marks a significant step for Sammaan Capital, as it continues to provide end-to-end digital home loans to more than 1.5 million homeowners across the country.
Kaushik Mukherjee, Partner at CMS INDUSLAW, led the Capital Markets team advising Sammaan Capital on the transaction. His role was pivotal, playing a key part as the Indian legal counsel on this significant transaction. Sai Akanksh Deekonda, Associate, was also part of the Banking & Finance team advising Sammaan Capital.
