Lawmakers from the Democratic party will not vote in the upcoming Prime Minister decision, according to deliberations within their party.

The race for the 32nd prime minister of Thailand is heating up, with a scheduled vote set for this Friday. The meeting of the Democrat Party, held at the parliament on Friday morning, aimed to determine their stance on the upcoming vote.

After extensive discussions, the Democrats have reached a consensus to abstain from voting in the selection of the prime minister. The meeting was convened by Pramual Pongthavaradet, the Democrat deputy leader and Prachuap Khiri Khan MP, at about 9.30am. All Democrat MPs were in attendance.

The Democrat Party's decision to abstain from voting was not made lightly. The party members exchanged views on the issue during the meeting, with the final decision coming after careful consideration.

Meanwhile, the Bhumjaithai (BPT) Party has nominated Anutin Charnvirakul as their candidate for prime minister. The Pheu Thai Party, on the other hand, has chosen Chaikasem Nitisiri, a former attorney-general, as their candidate.

The rejection of a draft royal decree seeking to dissolve the House has cleared the way for the selection of the new prime minister. With the Democrats deciding to abstain from voting, the stage is set for a tight race between Anutin Charnvirakul and Chaikasem Nitisiri.

The prime minister's vote is scheduled for Friday, and the outcome is eagerly awaited by Thai citizens and political observers alike. The decision of the Democrat Party to abstain from voting may have significant implications for the political landscape of Thailand moving forward. Stay tuned for further updates.
