In the bustling city of Nur-Sultan and the vibrant metropolis of Almaty, the construction of power plants has been a topic of interest and concern. Here's a rundown of the latest developments:

Power Plant TPP-2

Over 105 billion tenge has been invested in the construction of TPP-2, but its completion status remains uncertain. The general contractor, AO "Tsentrkazaenergoremontaj", was committed to the project despite unfinished preparatory works, aiming to meet deadlines.

Power Plant TPP-3

The construction of TPP-3 was halted in 2018, and concerns have arisen about the allocation of funds and the project's completion. The initial cost was set at 87 billion tenge, of which 80 billion has been spent. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the total cost has been revised to 122 billion tenge. The Maslikhat of Nur-Sultan has inquired about the allocation of funds, and Yerlan Kanaliyev, Maslikhat secretary, has instructed the head of the city's construction department to provide deputies with information on the issues related to TPP-3.

It was reported that TPP-3 was supposed to have been completed by now, but it is not ready. Moreover, water was not drained from TPP-3, and the roof was not cleaned for two winters, which could potentially impact the project's progress.

Pilot Projects

In more positive news, a pilot project will be launched on a section of Turan Avenue in Nur-Sultan, with the section expected to be closed for three weeks. The capital also plans to launch a pilot project.

Material Costs

Yerlan Kanaliyev also noted a 38% increase in material costs in the construction sector, which could affect the costing and timelines of ongoing and future projects.

Financial Audit

Deputies were invited to participate in the financial audit of projects TPP-1, TPP-2, and TPP-3, aiming to ensure transparency and accountability in the use of public funds.

TPP-1

Over 31 billion tenge was spent on the reconstruction of TPP-1, but it was not completed. The remaining funds were intended for commissioning works, but the project's status remains unclear.

Transportation in Almaty

In Almaty, there is a stance against allowing all vehicles on "bus lanes". This decision aims to maintain the efficiency of public transportation and ensure the smooth flow of traffic.

As these developments unfold, the public and officials continue to monitor the progress of the power plant projects, aiming for transparency, accountability, and the efficient use of public funds.
