The accusations are directed at the Luxor Hotel and Casino and Treasure Island, with three and one plaintiff respectively making a claim. The alleged incidents date back to June the previous year. The plaintiffs have provided graphic evidence in the form of videos and photos of the creepy crawlies and their bites.
The litigations allege that the affected individuals were savagely attacked by bed bugs, resulting in visible scars.
Teresa Bruce, the plaintiff against Treasure Island, shares her harrowing experience. Upon reporting the issue, hotel staff sent risk management personnel to her room, confirming the presence of bed bugs. Despite being moved to another room, Bruce claims she was bitten again in her new accommodations.
In the case of the MGM Resorts International-owned Luxor, Stephen and Courtney Gully assert that the hotel's staff also responded to their complaints. Due to an excessive reaction to the bug bites, Courtney was rushed to the hospital. Paramedics attended to her in the parking lot and administered narcotics, according to the claim.
It seems that bed bug troubles are not unheard of in Las Vegas hotels. According to 8 News Now, inspectors from Southern Nevada Health District discovered bed bugs at Resorts World Las Vegas, the Bellagio Hotel and Casino, the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, and the Hilton Grand Vacation Club between February and August 2024.
