On June 3rd and 4th, 2025, Federal Council President Anke Rehlinger will participate in a significant gathering in Warsaw, Poland. The meeting, organised by the Second Parliamentary Chambers of the Weimar Triangle, brings together Germany, France, and Poland.

The Weimar Triangle, composed of Poland, France, and Germany, has been highly active as per statements from Federal Council President Rehlinger. The main topic of the gathering is "Solidarity of our democracies - a path to restoring European security".

The meeting aims to reaffirm the readiness for political and military support during and after the war, assistance in reconstruction, and accompaniment of Ukraine's EU accession process. Rehlinger has expressed that Ukraine, due to its current situation, understands the importance of solidarity and fighting for freedom better than any other country.

A joint declaration will be planned, stating that Russia bears full responsibility for the war and that crimes and human rights violations will be prosecuted. The work of the International Criminal Court is explicitly supported in this declaration.

The meeting will be attended by Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, Marshal of the Polish Senate, Gérard Larcher, President of the French Senate, and Ruslan Stefantschuk, President of the Ukrainian Parliament, Verkhovna Rada, both in person and virtually.

Press statements from the meeting, including Rehlinger's participation, are scheduled for 12:40 PM. These statements will be broadcast on various platforms, including the Polish Senate's YouTube channel.

During her stay in Warsaw, Rehlinger will participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Solidarność Monument, aligning with the current Polish EU Council Presidency's motto, "Security, Europe!". Close networking and strong joint engagement of the three countries is a key concern of Rehlinger's Federal Council Presidency.
