Country's governing and military officials reaffirm their commitment and pay tribute to the fallen heroes on Defense Day.

Leaders of the nation, both civilians and military, renew commitment and pay tribute to martyrs on the occasion of Defence Day.

Pakistan marked Defence and Martyrs' Day on a specific date, commemorating a significant event in the country's history. This day, in 1965, the Pakistani army stood firm against blatant aggression and thwarted the enemy's nefarious designs.

The ceremonies took place with renewed pledges to safeguard the country's sovereignty. The civilian and military leadership honoured the courage of martyrs, ghazis, and citizens, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paying tribute to the martyrs and ghazis, calling September 6 "a symbol of courage, unity, and resilience."

Prime Minister Shehbaz strongly condemned ongoing Israeli aggression in Palestine and urged uninterrupted humanitarian aid to Gaza. He reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to peace and constructive engagement but warned against ignoring "continuous Indian provocations and shifting regional dynamics." He also expressed solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and reiterated unwavering support for their struggle for self-determination.

President Zardari, too, reaffirmed Pakistan's principled stance on Kashmir, calling it the root cause of regional instability, and condemned Israeli atrocities as genocide. He demanded a just solution for Kashmir and an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

On this day, the Chief of Army Staff, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Chief of the Naval Staff, and Chief of the Air Staff led the homage to the nation's heroes. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the Army, Navy, and Air Force for their unmatched professionalism and combat skills under the strategic leadership of COAS Field Marshal Munir.

Prime Minister Shehbaz underscored that economic stability is essential for strong defense and urged the nation to rise above personal differences for sustainable prosperity and self-reliance. President Zardari urged the pillars of the state, particularly the youth, to remain alert, united, and resilient in the face of evolving challenges.

The armed forces expressed their resolve to support victims of the ongoing floods and defend the country against any threat. Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a message stating that September 6 represents the unflinching resolve and unshakeable spirit of the Pakistani nation.

On a special note, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier delivered a special message on Defense Day honoring the victims of defense efforts in recent years. The day coincided with Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) and began with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital.

In conclusion, Defence and Martyrs' Day serves as a reminder of Pakistan's resilience and unity in the face of adversity. The nation continues to stand firm in its commitment to peace, sovereignty, and the welfare of its people.
