Lenovo unveils 4K 240 Hz OLED gaming monitors along with new Legion Pro 7 laptops boasting a Ryzen 9 9955HX3D CPU and an RTX 5080 GPU at IFA event.
Lenovo has made a splash at this year's IFA tech show with the announcement of its latest Legion Pro gaming series. The lineup includes three new gaming monitors and a top-of-the-line gaming laptop, each designed to deliver an immersive gaming experience.
The star of the show is the Lenovo Legion Pro 7 gaming laptop, set to hit stores in November with a starting price of $2,399. Powered by an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D "Fire Range" Zen 5 chip and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 "Blackwell" discrete GPU with a 175-watt TGP, this laptop promises lightning-fast performance.
The Legion Pro 7 comes equipped with a 16-inch 2560 x 1600 OLED panel, boasting a 240 Hz refresh rate and a swift 0.08 ms response time. For audio, it features a four-speaker system with Nahimic tuning. The laptop also supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 for seamless connectivity.
One unique feature of the Legion Pro 7 is its swappable keycaps, allowing for personalised customisation. It also includes per-key RGB lighting and a keyboard with 100% anti-ghosting capabilities. For storage, it offers up to a 2TB PCIe 5.0 SSD.
Lenovo has also unveiled three new gaming monitors: the Lenovo Legion Pro 32UD-10, Lenovo Legion Pro 27UD-10, and Lenovo Legion Pro 27Q-10.
The Lenovo Legion Pro 32UD-10 and Lenovo Legion Pro 27UD-10 feature 4K (3840 x 2160) "PureSight" OLED panels with a refresh rate of 240 Hz and a response time of 0.03 ms. They cover 99% of sRGB and 99% of DCI-P3, with a 1,500,000:1 contrast ratio and DisplayHDR TrueBlack 400 compliance.
The Lenovo Legion Pro 27Q-10, priced at approximately €699 in Germany, sports a QHD (2560 x 1440) "PureSight" OLED panel, with a maximum refresh rate of 280 Hz and the same 0.3 ms response time.
All three monitors offer various connectivity options. The Lenovo Legion Pro 32UD-10 and Lenovo Legion Pro 27UD-10 support USB Type-C (x1), DisplayPort 1.4 (x1), and HDMI 2.1 (x2) connections, with an integrated hub offering three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports. The Lenovo Legion Pro 27Q-10 supports DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1, but does not offer USB-C display options. It does, however, have a built-in USB hub for connecting peripherals.
For those on a budget, the Lenovo Legion Pro 7 gaming laptop comes with a 720p webcam on entry-level systems, but an upgrade to a 5MP sensor is available.
