Lenovo unveils updated LOQ tower for competition: IFA 2025 features upgraded OLED monitors, heightening competition
Lenovo Steps into the High-End Gaming Monitor Market with New Offerings
Lenovo is making a bold move in the competitive high-end gaming monitor market, joining the ranks of established players such as Alienware, ASUS, Samsung, and now HP. At the recently concluded IFA 2025 event, Lenovo unveiled a series of new products, including premium OLED gaming monitors and a redesigned entry-level pre-built gaming desktop – the Lenovo LOQ Tower (Gen 10).
The design of the Lenovo LOQ Tower (Gen 10) is polarizing, featuring RGB lighting and a transparent side panel that some may perceive as "screaming 'gamer'". However, this tower offers a value-driven pre-built solution, boasting a 26-liter design, increased internal volume, and improved thermal performance.
Lenovo has announced three new premium OLED gaming monitors: the Lenovo Legion Pro 27Q-10, 27UD-10, and 32UD-10. The Lenovo Legion Pro 27Q-10 stands out with its QHD (1440p), 280Hz panel and a starting price of $699.99. Its counterpart, the Lenovo Legion Pro 27UD-10, offers a UHD (2160p) resolution with a 240Hz refresh rate and an expected starting price of $999.99. The Lenovo Legion 32UD-10, with its larger 31.5-inch panel, is expected to start at $1,099.99.
All three monitors share a similar two-tone design, a unique stand with a built-in phone holder, and DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 ports. They are also equipped with Lenovo PureSight OLED panels for an immersive gaming experience.
In the desktop arena, the Lenovo LOQ Tower (Gen 10) is equipped with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti desktop GPU, up to 64GB of dual-channel SODIMM RAM, up to 4GB of M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 SSD storage, and Wi-Fi 7/Bluetooth 5.4 wireless connectivity. The entry-level pricing for the Lenovo LOQ Tower (Gen 10) is expected to be $999.99.
Lenovo has also introduced a new variant of the Legion Pro 7i (Gen 10), called the Legion Pro 7i (Gen 10) "i", which will be available in November for $2,399.99. This variant comes equipped with an Intel CPU, offering a choice between the Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX or the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX CPU, both based on the Arrow Lake architecture with up to 24 cores and high clock speeds. The Core Ultra 9 275HX features 8 performance cores up to 5.4 GHz and 16 efficiency cores up to 4.6 GHz.
While the Lenovo gaming landscape looks strong, there is stiff competition on the horizon from companies like HP. Some potential buyers may shy away from the Lenovo LOQ Tower (Gen 10) due to its mobile CPU and potential limitations for future upgrades. The success of the Lenovo LOQ Tower (Gen 10) will depend on its expected starting configuration's GPU, memory, and storage.
In addition to the new hardware announcements, Lenovo has also unveiled a new update for the Lenovo Legion Glasses 2. The IFA 2025 event marked a significant step forward for Lenovo in the gaming market, with a strong focus on premium, immersive gaming experiences.
