In the heart of southern Seoul, the fourth edition of Frieze Seoul is underway, and one of its most captivating exhibitions is "Park Seo-Bo x LG OLED TV: Colors Drawn from Nature." This exhibition, part of Frieze Seoul 2025, brings together the legacy of renowned Korean artist Park Seo-bo and LG OLED's cutting-edge technology.

Park Seo-bo, a master of the Korean art movement Dansaekhwa, is celebrated for his art characterized by principles of repetition, emptiness, and healing. His iconic "Ecriture" series, which evolved from pencil works in the '60s to vivid color paintings inspired by nature on hanji, or Korean mulberry paper, in the 2000s, forms the core of this exhibition.

This is the first project by the Parkseobo Foundation since Park Seo-bo's passing in October 2023. The exhibition features digital presentations of Park Seo-bo's "Ecriture" series on LG OLED's digital canvas, providing a unique opportunity for visitors to experience his art in a new light.

In a T-shaped installation at the exhibition, LG OLED's latest OLED evo G5 and M5 TVs are showcased. Known for their ability to render subtle shades and deep contrasts, these TVs allow Park Seo-bo's meditative palette to be faithfully conveyed on a digital screen.

Je Baak, an art professor at Seoul National University, has created a digitally reimagined artwork for the exhibition using Park's Ecriture method and artificial intelligence. This artwork features variations of autumn-leaf red as perceived by diverse individuals, adding a contemporary twist to Park Seo-bo's timeless art.

The collaboration between the Parkseobo Foundation and LG OLED emerged from a shared vision to explore the artistic potential of OLED technology and to present Park Seo-bo's art as a source of healing. LG OLED has a history of collaborating with international artists, including Sam Hecht and Kim Colin from the British industrial design team Industrial Facility, Anish Kapoor, Damien Hirst, and Kevin McCoy.

Together with Kiaf Seoul, Frieze Seoul brings around 300 galleries from around the world to the capital every year. The exhibition runs through Saturday at Coex, further emphasizing Seoul's growing status as a global art hub.

Kate Oh, head of Experiential Marketing at the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company, stated that LG OLED aims to honor the legacy of Park Seo-bo's nature-inspired colors. By combining art and technology, this exhibition promises to be a memorable experience for art enthusiasts and technology enthusiasts alike.
