Local initiatives for assimilation receive backing from The Land, increasing to a total of 34.
The Baden-Württemberg state government has announced its support for 34 integration projects over the next three years, with a total funding of around 1.8 million euros. The funding call, named "Integration on the Ground - Strengthening Municipal Structures", aims to promote social unity and sustainable integration.
The selection of projects was made from numerous applications received, with the process involving a diversely staffed, independent expert panel. The selected projects aim to strengthen municipal structures for integration, focusing on digital participation for people with a migration background and improving digital competencies.
Projects that promote intercultural dialogue, equal encounters, and break down prejudices are being funded. This includes projects that improve encounter and exchange in diverse society, such as strengthening intercultural dialogue and enabling equal encounters. The establishment of structures for honorary office guides and measures for culturally sensitive design of existing offers are also being funded, as was the case last year.
Secure access to digital technologies is a basic prerequisite for social participation. Therefore, the projects funded will focus on digital participation, ensuring that people with a migration background can actively participate in digital society.
Both municipalities and free carriers are being funded, with a proportional grant of between 75 and 90 percent. The maximum funding rate per project is 80,000 euros.
The funding decision for the integration projects was made for the 2025 funding call. The Citizen Representative can be contacted via a contact form on the ministry's website, and the Ministry's Press Office can be contacted via email. The funding supports social cohesion and strengthens the democratic foundation at the local level, ensuring a more inclusive and united society. The state government's commitment to integration projects demonstrates its dedication to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all residents.
