London's Soho hosts an exhibition on Vision Art Platform, delving into the realms of nature.
In the heart of London's Soho district, the Vision Art Platform has opened its doors to a thought-provoking new exhibition. Titled "What Will Not Bend, Will Break," the show invites audiences to engage with the natural world in ways that are embodied, reflective, and relational.
Curated by Senem Çağla Bilgin-Keys, the exhibition sets itself against the backdrop of deepening ecological uncertainty and rapid urbanization. It initiates a dialogue about humanity's relationship with urban life, questioning the use of scientific rationality and technological solutions as answers to environmental problems.
The exhibition presents nature as a storyteller of time, encouraging viewers to reconsider how nature is perceived beyond its aesthetic or functional dimensions. The show features works by artists Hannah Kline, Jacqueline Roditi, Lucy XC Liu, Payidar Savaş, Polina Piëch, Sefa Çakır, Sophie Anne Wyth, Tanzer Arığ, and others, including Anne Krinsky and Aida Wilde.
The artists explore nature as an active, evolving subject through photography, painting, sculpture, and site-specific installations. The exhibition actively shapes both cultural and personal memory, as it highlights the complex interplay between nature, culture, and artistic practice, particularly in areas where ecological presence remains dominant.
The show challenges the notion of viewing nature solely as a system to manage or optimize. Instead, it invites viewers to appreciate nature's resilience and adaptability, and to reflect on their own role in shaping the environment.
The exhibition is open to the public free of charge. Visitors can attend from Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please note that the gallery remains closed on Sundays. The show opened on Friday and will remain on view until Sept. 10.
These intersections reveal a dynamic tension that oscillates between admiration, fear, and respect, encapsulating the exhibition's theme perfectly: what will not bend, will break. Don't miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in a thought-provoking exploration of our relationship with nature.
