In a fascinating discovery, a well-preserved 1994 Honda Accord LXi, with less than 1500km on the clock, has been unearthed in New Zealand and is now up for grabs on Collecting Cars New Zealand's website.

The Accord, which was assembled in New Zealand, was originally sold by Southland Honda and was driven sparingly by its first owner. After the original owner passed away, the car was stored away for more than 20 years. It was only in 2023 that the current owner, whose name remains undisclosed, purchased the vehicle from the woman's son.

The car, which had two owners, was kept in a garage with the registration on hold until 2012. Remarkably, it still runs on its original Firestone tyres, a testament to its pristine condition. The Accord rides on a set of 14-inch steel wheels fitted with Firestone Firehawk 960 tyres and plastic hubcaps.

The fifth-generation Honda Accord, launched in 1993, was based on the American market Accord. The LX, the mid-spec model of the Accord, came equipped with a 2.2-litre engine and either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. The EX model, however, boasted a more powerful 108kW VTEC version of the 2.2 engine and additional features like anti-lock brakes, four wheel disc brakes, a powered moonroof, 15-inch alloy wheels, and a more powerful stereo.

This specific Accord is finished in Silver Mist with a grey velour cloth-trimmed interior featuring multi-coloured seat inserts. The car, currently with 1439km on the odometer, has required minimal work to get it back on the road.

If you're a car enthusiast looking for a rare find, this 1994 Honda Accord LXi could be just what you're after. The auction is live now on Collecting Cars New Zealand's website. Don't miss your chance to own a piece of automotive history.
