In the heart of Siberia, a musical event is causing quite a stir. Singer Angelina Zhirkova, known by her stage name Green Apelsin, has been invited to perform in Yakutsk on June 27. However, the invitation has sparked controversy, with local United Russia deputy Ivan Luzhkan calling for the concert to be cancelled.

Luzhkan, a deputy of the Il Tumen, has labelled Zhirkova as a "pro-Ukrainian activist" due to her public support for Ukraine and opposition to the Russian invasion. This stance, he argues, is incompatible with the values of the event, which is part of the International Games "Children of Asia".

The controversy stems from a track that Zhirkova recorded at the start of the SVO (Special Military Operation). The song, which she later deleted, was an "anti-war" track advocating for Ukrainian sovereignty and democracy.

Meanwhile, Luzhkan, who is known for his support of the SVO, has suggested that Green Apelsin's concert could potentially earn him political points if it is banned. However, the authorities of Yakutia, represented by the directors of the International Games, have yet to make a decision on the matter.

It's important to note that Green Apelsin's actions and music have been met with both criticism and support. The singer, who hails from Yakutsk and Belaya Gora, has been actively involved in helping the residents of Donbass, a region that has been heavily affected by the conflict.

As the date of the concert approaches, the debate continues. Green Apelsin's performance before children from different countries is causing controversy, with some seeing it as a powerful statement for peace and others viewing it as a political move.

The decision on whether the concert will go ahead remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: the issue has sparked a wider conversation about the role of art in politics, and the power of music to challenge and inspire.
