Madrid secures victory over Mallorca with Vinícius' aid, Atletico suffers defeat in La Liga

In the ongoing La Liga season, two unexpected results took centre stage. Real Madrid secured its first win of the campaign, while Oviedo registered a surprising 1-0 victory over Real Sociedad, marking their first triumph since returning to the first division.

The victory for Real Madrid came against Mallorca, with a final score of 2-1. Vinícius Júnior and Arda Güler scored for the Los Blancos, with the latter equalizing the match before the Brazilian forward netted the winner. Thibaut Courtois, the Real Madrid goalkeeper, allowed Mallorca's only goal through Vedat Muriqi in the 18th minute.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, a key new signing who joined Madrid in June, disrupted a potential equalizing pass for Mallorca. The 20-year-old Dutch defender Dean Huijsen played a part in Real Madrid's equalizer. Álvaro Carreras, another new arrival at the club, bolstered the defence as the left back, blocking a goal-bound strike by Samu Costa.

Meanwhile, Oviedo's Leander Dendoncker scored the only goal in their victory against Real Sociedad. This triumph propels Oviedo up the La Liga table, while Real Sociedad remains in the middle of the pack.

Sevilla also had a successful outing, defeating Girona 2-0. The win keeps Girona at the bottom of the table with three losses. Giuliano Simeone scored for Atletico Madrid in the seventh minute of their match against Alaves, but Carlos Vicente equalized for Alaves with a penalty goal in the 14th minute. Despite Simeone's efforts, Atletico Madrid remains winless this season, with only one victory in their last four matches. This is the club's worst start to La Liga in 14 seasons under Simeone.
