In an unexpected turn of events, a kitchen fire broke out on the late evening of Thursday, August 28, 2025, in Hagen-Mitte, on Rembergstraße. The incident, which occurred at approximately 11 pm, led to an emergency response and the temporary custody of a 47-year-old man.
Initial investigations conducted by police officers suggest that the fire may have been caused by the man falling asleep while cooking. However, the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Upon arrival at the scene, the fire department and police found the man at the location, who claimed to be a friend of the apartment's occupant.
