New Leadership for Okada Manila: Nobuki Sato Takes Over as President and COO
Nobuki Sato, a seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience in hospitality, finance, and strategic operations, has been appointed as the new President and COO of Tiger Resort, Leisure and Entertainment, Inc. (TRLEI), effective September 15, 2023.
Sato currently serves in multiple executive roles in Universal Entertainment Corp., the parent company of TRLEI, and is a board member of TRLEI, a position he has held since March 2023. His appointment comes as Byron Yip, who has led TRLEI for seven years, steps down to pursue other opportunities.
In his new role, Sato is expected to guide Okada Manila into its next phase of strategic growth and innovation, leveraging his proven expertise in operational and financial management. The company emphasizes this leadership transition as part of its commitment to operational excellence and long-term value creation.
Tomohiro Okada, President of Universal Entertainment Corp, expressed appreciation for Byron Yip’s instrumental role in establishing Okada Manila as a leading regional destination. Yip's contributions will continue to support the organization to ensure a seamless transition. Until Sato takes over, Yip will continue to oversee daily operations and support the leadership transition.
Under Yip's leadership, Okada Manila achieved the Forbes 5-Star rating for the sixth consecutive year, making it the largest Forbes 5-Star Integrated Resort in the Philippines to receive this distinction. The resort, which offers hospitality, gaming, entertainment, dining, and conference facilities across a 30-hectare property with 1,001 rooms and many amenities, has solidified its position as a premier destination in the region.
