In the ongoing Anambra governorship election, Paul Chukwuma, the Young Progressives Party (YPP) candidate, has made a bold claim regarding the provision of steady power in Anambra. During a visit to Prof Bart Nnaji's Geometric Power in Aba, Chukwuma asserted that he would ensure the people of Anambra have consistent electricity within three months of assuming office.

Chukwuma's statements, however, did not touch upon the presidency, speaking to fools, or defending Tinubu's government, as was reported in some circles. Instead, he focused on issues he believes can help grow Anambra, implying that Governor Chukwuma Soludo's attention seems to be more on gossip than these critical matters.

In response to Soludo's remarks about his interest in the governorship being sparked during a visit, Chukwuma emphasised his seriousness about the contest and his commitment to addressing issues that can help Anambra prosper. He went on to criticise Soludo's performance, particularly in regards to providing steady electricity power in the state.

In a surprising turn of events, Chukwuma suggested that Soludo should engage in trading insults with market women if that is his desire, comparing the governor to women who sell pepper and ogiri at the market. This statement was a departure from the usual political discourse and seemed to indicate a more personal approach to the election.

Meanwhile, Governor Soludo implied that Chukwuma is not serious about the governorship contest but is seeking popularity. This counter-argument has added another layer of intrigue to the race, with both candidates presenting strong arguments for their candidacy.

As the election continues, the people of Anambra eagerly await the next moves from both candidates and the outcome of this heated contest. It remains to be seen who will emerge victorious and lead the state towards a brighter future.

Noteworthy, Paul Ifemeludike, the Action Alliance candidate, is also in the race, but his campaign has not been a significant focus of this article.

Additionally, there has been no mention of any mass burial of crisis victims being approved by Chukwuma or his government, nor has there been any statement about losing too many lives in Anambra under Chukwuma's leadership.

Chukwuma hails from Umueri, and his community will be eagerly watching the election results, hoping for a candidate who can bring positive change to the state.
