Marvel devotees set in astonishment by Chris Evans' recent transformation

Chris Evans is set to reprise his iconic role as Captain America in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Avengers: Doomsday, set to release on December 18, 2026. This announcement has sparked excitement among fans, following Evans' recent transformation, showcasing a ripped physique similar to his Captain America days.

The speculation began when Evans made an appearance at the TIFF premiere of the movie Sacrifice, fuelling discussions about his potential role in Avengers: Doomsday. One fan expressed their excitement on social media, writing, "Clean shave Chris Evans WELCOME BACK STEVE ROGERS OMG."

Steve Rogers' absence in Avengers: Doomsday can be attributed to the conclusion of his character in the previous film, Avengers: Endgame. In that movie, Rogers travelled back in time to return the Infinity Stones and lived the past with his lover Peggy Carter (Haley Atwell). His character returned to the present time as an old man and passed the Captain America shield to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie).

Besides Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Avengers: Doomsday also features Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S. Agent, who is a former Captain America in the film.
