In a tragic turn of events, Jerusalem was rocked by a shooting attack on September 8, 2025, during rush hour. The incident, which occurred near a bus station, left four people dead and several others injured.

According to reports, the attackers were identified as two Palestinian men from the West Bank. Witnesses described men shooting at passersby, causing panic among civilians who were seen frantically trying to take cover in a video from a mounted camera.

Upon arrival, emergency responder Ori Schaham provided urgent care to 15 severely injured people. The neighborhood was quickly cordoned off by police, military, and emergency services, and the two attackers were shot dead on the spot by authorities.

One of the attackers was armed with a rifle, which was found on the ground. The Israeli army is now searching for potential accomplices and has encircled several West Bank villages as part of the investigation.

The incident caused a sense of unease and sorrow, with Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion expressing his emotion, stating that the day was particularly hard due to the long period of peace that preceded the attack. A resident described the scene as people running in all directions, frozen in fear.

Terrorist groups, including Hamas and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, have claimed or praised the attack. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the country is waging an intense war against terrorism on several fronts.
