Massive Cycling Accidents Disrupt RiderMan Event in Black Forest

Sunday saw a series of unfortunate incidents at the RiderMan cycling event held in the Black Forest region, near Bad Dürrheim. Two mass crashes occurred during the race, causing chaos and disruption.

The first crash occurred in a bend on a country road between Bad Dürrheim and Biesingen. A second crash followed in the backup behind the initial accident scene. The Konstanz police reported that around 35 cyclists had minor injuries, while initial reports suggest that 15 to 20 participants sustained serious injuries, and another 20 to 25 suffered lighter injuries.

The exact number of injured cyclists could not yet be determined, as some were distributed to hospitals in the area for treatment. Four rescue helicopters were deployed to treat the injured.

The organizer of the RiderMan event, responsible for the stage race held from September 5 to 7, is the official RiderMan event management. The event included amateur and professional races, as well as Bundesliga competitions.
