Massive Inflow of over 1 Trillion Tenge Investments projected for Almaty's Capital in 2021
Almaty, the largest city in Kazakhstan, is set to witness a significant surge in development with over 90 projects planned across various sectors this year. These projects, totalling over one trillion tenge, are expected to create thousands of jobs and transform the city's landscape.
In the industrial sector, 20 projects are in the pipeline, with a combined investment of 37.6 billion tenge. Notable among these are the TOO Novus Polymer, Valtherm, "Korporatsiya Astana Invest", Nedex Almaty, City Stone, "Kaz-Dia-Test", and others. Additionally, five industrial parks, including TOO KazStroyTrade, ADS Industries, Ala Estate, D&J Investments & Logistic, and Asia Prom Textile, are scheduled to launch by the end of the year at a cost of 2.85 billion tenge. These industrial parks are expected to generate 1,400 jobs.
The construction sector is another area of focus, with the commissioning of 34 multifunctional residential complexes planned, totalling 66.9 billion tenge.
The service and trade sectors are not being left behind. A total of 24 projects, worth 22.5 billion tenge, are planned, including the renovation of the "Almaly" shopping center, the multifunctional hotel complex Jetisy (Novotel Living 4/IBIS 3), and the Luton Invest public administrative complex.
Social projects also form a significant part of the planned investments. 14 projects worth 31.8 billion tenge are in the pipeline, including the first innovative project school in KZ High Tech Academy with a sports and arts center, the Helmer medical rehabilitation center, and the ballet theater "AO "Demeu Fund" among others.
Looking back, in 2020, the volume of investments in the fixed capital of Almaty amounted to 971.2 billion tenge, with 51 projects completed for a total of 175 billion tenge.
Preliminary lease agreements have been signed with 19 enterprises by the industrial park investors. However, the search results do not provide information about companies opening in the Almaty Industrial Park by the end of the year with an investment totaling 2.85 billion tenge.
