Mastodon's guitarist expresses relief at parting ways with his former bandmates, whom he labels as unbearable individuals.

Last week, Atlanta metal band Mastodon took to social media to commemorate the 11th anniversary of their album "Once More Round The Sun." In the post, they expressed pride and gratitude for the music and history shared with former guitarist Brent Hinds, wishing him success and happiness in his future endeavors.

Hinds, who announced his departure from the band in March, recently referred to Mastodon as a "shit band" and the members as "horrible humans." However, Mastodon has yet to respond to these comments.

The departure was initially described as a mutual decision, with Bill Kelliher, another Mastodon guitarist, elaborating in an interview with Guitar World a few days later. Kelliher likened the situation to a marriage, stating that people can grow apart and get interested in other things. He also expressed that the decision was hard for all members of the band.

Despite the departure, Mastodon is pressing on with their upcoming UK gigs. They are currently rehearsing and will be supporting Slayer in Cardiff on July 3. The band will also be appearing at the Back To The Beginning Sabbath all dayer at Villa Park, Birmingham, and Finsbury Park, London on July 6.

One fan replied to the post, expressing that "Halloween" is their favorite track on the album and that they will miss B. Hinds. No new information about the reasons behind Hinds' departure or Mastodon's feelings towards him was provided in this paragraph.

As Mastodon continues their tour, it remains to be seen how the band will move forward without one of their founding members. For now, fans can look forward to their upcoming shows in the UK, as the band continues to celebrate the music that has made them a staple in the metal genre.
