McLaren racing car driver Alex Dunne resumes training at Monza for the Formula One competition, returning to the driver's seat of his vehicle.
In the world of Formula 1, the Bahrain Grand Prix promises an exciting lineup of changes and debuts.
Felipe Drugovich, a seasoned racer, will be stepping into the Aston Martin cockpit, replacing Fernando Alonso for the Bahrain Grand Prix. Meanwhile, two rookie drivers, Kimi Antonelli and Isack Hadjar, are set to make their mark in the competitive arena.
Antonelli, who will be racing for a yet-to-be-determined team in Italy, is likely to face criticism before his home race. His teammate, Gabriel Bortoleto, is another rookie driver competing this season.
The regulations in Formula 1 require each team to run a rookie driver in at least four Friday practices, with two per car. This regulation allows teams with full-time rookie drivers to count their first two race weekends as "rookie practices," saving two of the four slots.
Alex Dunne, currently fifth in the Formula 2 championship, has already had a taste of Formula 1, having filled in for Lando Norris in the Austrian Grand Prix. He will be racing in the McLaren cockpit for the second time this season, in Monza, Italy. In his previous outing, he finished FP1 at the Red Bull Ring 0.224 seconds behind the fastest time set by George Russell.
Dunne found the switch from an F2 car to an F1 car surprisingly easy, a testament to his adaptability. Ryo Hirakawa and Paul Aron have also filled in for various drivers in multiple Grand Prix races for Haas and Sauber respectively.
Ayumu Iwasa will be racing for Red Bull, while Fred Vesti will be taking Lewis Hamilton's seat for Mercedes. Luke Browning will be representing Williams, replacing Carlos Sainz, and Victor Martins will be racing for a yet-to-be-determined team in the Spanish Grand Prix, replacing Pierre Gasly.
Finally, Arvid Lindblad will be racing for a yet-to-be-determined team in the UK Grand Prix, replacing Tsunoda. Christian Danner, an F1 expert, has been analysing the performance of Mercedes rookie Kimi Antonelli and has shared insights on what he believes the young driver is doing wrong.
The Bahrain Grand Prix is shaping up to be an exciting event, with a mix of seasoned racers, rookies, and teams making changes to their lineups. Stay tuned for more updates as the season progresses.
