Measures imposed on educational institutions in Yakutsk, due to measles, have been lifted.

Measles Restrictions Lifted in Yakutsk Schools and Kindergartens

After a two-week period of restrictions due to an increase in measles cases, schools and kindergartens in Yakutsk are set to resume activities from May 13.

The Yakutsk Sanitary and Epidemiological Commission, in collaboration with the Republican Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology, held a meeting on May 12 to discuss the situation. However, no new information about the decision made on the lifting of restrictions or the name of the head of the Yakutsk Sanitary and Epidemiological Commission was provided.

From April 17 to May 10, unvaccinated children were temporarily excluded from visiting educational institutions in Yakutsk, according to the National Vaccination Calendar. The Commission advises parents and adults to check their and their children's measles vaccination status.

The focus of the preventive measures for measles is on the vaccination requirement for summer children's health camps. The Republican Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology in Yakutsk has recommended measles vaccination for children and adults attending these camps.

No new information about the number of measles cases or the impact of the restrictions on secondary and higher education was provided. The restrictions still apply to institutions where the incubation period has not passed and not all children and staff have been vaccinated.

As the schools and kindergartens in Yakutsk reopen, it is important for everyone to remain vigilant and ensure that the necessary precautions are taken to prevent the spread of measles.
