Bill Sammon, a highly respected journalist with nearly four decades of news experience, is set to join Nexstar Media Group in a newly created role. From November 18, Sammon will direct Nexstar's national news content in Washington, D.C., leading the combined newsgathering operations of The Hill and NewsNation.

Sammon's impressive career began as an investigative reporter for The Plain Dealer in Cleveland. He later relocated to Washington and spent a decade as a White House correspondent for several newspapers, including The Washington Times. His journalistic prowess continued to grow as he covered conflicts in Bosnia and Iraq as a war correspondent for Stars and Stripes in Europe.

Sammon's contributions to the industry are significant. He was the first to declare President Joe Biden the winner in Arizona during the 2020 presidential election, and he oversaw presidential debates and the network's decision desk at Fox News. His efforts were instrumental in ensuring accurate and timely election coverage, a commitment that Nexstar Media Group has consistently demonstrated.

In addition to his journalistic achievements, Sammon is an accomplished author. He has written six books on the presidency, four of which became New York Times bestsellers. His new role at Nexstar will undoubtedly benefit from this wealth of knowledge and insight.

Sammon expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to work with Nexstar's team of outstanding journalists, stating, "I am thrilled to be joining Nexstar Media Group and its talented team of journalists. I look forward to working with them to deliver high-quality, accurate news content to audiences across the country."

Nexstar's team accurately informed the world who would win the presidency and the House of Representatives in the 2020 election, demonstrating its unwavering commitment to accurate, quality journalism. With Sammon at the helm, the combined newsgathering operations of The Hill and NewsNation in Washington, D.C., are poised for continued success.
