Meta is set to revolutionise its Marketing API with the introduction of Dynamic Media, a default opt-in feature scheduled to start on September 2025. This move aims to enhance the advertising experience and drive better results.

One of the key features of Dynamic Media is the real-time tracking of video assets through Video Fetch Status Monitoring. This system allows advertisers to monitor the processing of their videos, providing valuable insights through error codes, status indicators, and values.

To ensure seamless integration, Meta has set specific requirements for video specifications. These include files that do not exceed 200MB and support for multiple formats. The aspect ratios for different placements are also specified: Instagram Reels and Facebook Reels prioritise 9:16 aspect ratio videos, while Facebook Feed optimises for 4:5 ratios in single media formats and 1:1 ratios for carousel presentations.

Creative Optimization, a crucial aspect of Dynamic Media, involves testing, analyzing, and refining advertising assets to maximise engagement, conversion rates, and return on advertising investment. Performance Tracking, on the other hand, encompasses comprehensive measurement systems that monitor video engagement, conversion activities, cost efficiency, and audience reach across Dynamic Media campaigns.

Meta's automation systems leverage machine learning algorithms, predictive analytics, and optimization engines for real-time advertising decisions. Dynamic Media also utilises automation and product ranking systems to deliver optimised creative assets across placements.

The gradual rollout means some API calls will continue functioning with previous default settings during the transition period. Product detail page videos from e-commerce websites are the most common video source for Dynamic Media.

Meta introduced Creative Breakdown for Flexible formats on July 11, 2025, enabling Dynamic Media performance analysis. Since September 1, 2025, all new Advantage+ catalog ads created through the Marketing API automatically use the Dynamic Media feature. As of October 20, 2025, Meta will enforce 100% Dynamic Media default opt-in for all new Advantage+ Catalog ads.

Meta's Product Diagnostics API provides comprehensive diagnostic capabilities for video-related errors. It uses endpoints for identifying video-related errors, such as fetch status monitoring and response errors.

Meta supports three distinct approaches for adding video content to product catalogs: catalog feed files, batch API, and manual upload through Commerce Manager. Advertisers are advised to maintain a video hosting infrastructure capable of handling download requests during peak processing periods.

Common resolution approaches for video integration problems include verifying video file extensions, checking server accessibility, removing password protection, and ensuring proper URL formatting. User-generated content and creator-style videos demonstrate strong engagement metrics according to Meta's internal analyses.

In an exciting development, Reddit began beta testing of Dynamic Product Ads with select advertisers in March 2024. The change affects the field for Advantage+ Catalog ads across Single Image, Carousel, and Collection formats, and Dynamic Media campaigns support comprehensive performance tracking through Meta's Ads Insights API and Ads Manager reporting interfaces.

This shift towards Dynamic Media marks a significant step in Meta's advertising strategy, promising improved efficiency, increased engagement, and enhanced user experiences.
