Meta Partners with Midjourney to Boost AI Capabilities

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has announced a strategic partnership with AI company Midjourney. This collaboration is aimed at enhancing Meta's AI capabilities, particularly in image and video generation, an area where its tools have been lagging behind competitors.

Alexandr Wang, the new Chief AI Officer at Meta, has taken the lead in initiating this partnership. Wang is also the founder of Scale AI, a company that Meta recently acquired as part of a billion-dollar AI talent spending spree.

The partnership with Midjourney is one of Wang's first big public moves in his new role at Meta. Meta will license Midjourney's "aesthetic technology" for future products and models, hoping to leverage Midjourney's advanced image and video models to improve the visual aesthetics of its offerings.
