MGM China Holdings Resolves a $178,000 Legal Dispute With Actor Jacky Heung from Hong Kong
Hong Kong actor Jacky Heung has resolved a legal dispute with MGM China Holdings Limited, regarding an outstanding gambling debt. The debt, initially reported to be HK$1.4 million, has been fully settled, confirming the end of legal proceedings.
The dispute arose from a loan of HK$2m, which Jacky Heung borrowed from MGM Grand Paradise for gambling purposes. MGM China initiated standard legal procedures to address the related matters, but the situation was resolved by mid-July 2025.
Jacky Heung, who turns 41 on Sunday, is the son of Charles Heung, the founder and Chairman of China Star Entertainment Group. Despite allegations of Charles Heung's involvement in the Sun Yee On Triad, a notorious organized crime syndicate, he has denied any personal involvement or knowledge of the goings-on within the group.
China Star Entertainment Group, primarily involved in Chinese-language film and television production and distribution, also deals in real estate and gaming. The dispute between MGM China and Jacky Heung was related to a loan taken from MGM Grand Paradise.
In a statement, MGM China confirmed that the debt has been paid in full and that the corresponding legal procedures have been terminated. No further details about the resolution of the dispute were provided. The statement also did not mention any ongoing legal issues between MGM China and Jacky Heung.
Jacky Heung's family has admitted to their background in organized crime, with Heung Chin, Charles Heung's father, founding the Sun Yee On Triad. However, this matter does not appear to have played a role in the legal dispute between Jacky Heung and MGM China.

The dispute between Jacky Heung and MGM China Holdings Limited, related to a casino loan, has been resolved, with the casino-games debt of HK$1.4 million being fully settled. This settlement occurred after the loan, initially used for casino-and-gambling purposes, resulted in a legal towards MGM Grand Paradise. The resolution comes amidst Jacky Heung's family's involvement in casino-culture, as his grandfather, Heung Chin, founded the Sun Yee On Triad, a notorious organized crime syndicate. However, this matter does not appear to have directly influenced the legal dispute.
